During the COVID-19 outbreak, our client, Auriga Services, has proven to be a lifeline for customers in vulnerable situations. The public benefit entity, founded in 1997, has helped over 2 million customers who are struggling to pay their utility bills.
The company, which partners with the UK’s largest utility companies, NHS, local councils and private organisations, has seen an increased demand for their services during the Coronavirus outbreak. Whilst numbers of enquiries have increased, the full impact of this pandemic is yet to be confirmed, but some of the trust funds managed have seen a spike in their applications.
Auriga have recently launched a new service in partnership with Midlands-based food company, Jaspers, to deliver emergency food parcels to those in need. They are also sending out e-vouchers to extremely vulnerable customers to enable them to do a food shop.
Mark Abrams, Chief Executive Officer at Auriga comments; “Whilst the UK is going through a crisis, our staff members are working harder than ever to help those who need it most and I could not be prouder of them. As a company, our employees are at the heart of what we do and it is vital that we are still very much operational and helping as many people as possible; besides the operational support our staff are offering, they are also offering support through a friendly and kind chat.”
A recent survey by IPSOS asked consumers how they wanted advertising to make them feel during the pandemic. 23% of them said ‘safe’*. In light of this, OWB wanted to work with Auriga to publish as many positive messages as possible. This has included a social media campaign, highlighting that they are very much operational, despite all of their staff working from home. The social media campaign has resulted in increased impressions on social media, with a 20% increase over 30 days.
Mark adds; “OWB are making a real difference for us and are still just as proactive in these tough times.”
Whilst it can be difficult to get your message out on social media during these difficult times, Auriga’s positive and impactful activity highlights that it is still possible to get your brand in front of your target audience.
