Twycross Zoo have recently opened one of the largest gibbon facilities in Europe, Gibbon Forest. Gibbon Forest is nearly an acre and is ten times larger than the primates’ previous enclosure. It is specially designed to replicate the natural forest environment of the gibbons.
Gibbon Forrest will house the zoo’s four different species, all of which are endangered in the wild: agile, pileated, siamang and Northern white-cheeked. The gibbons have been in their new habitat since February and they have settled in very well.
You might not know this about Gibbons but they are very noisy primates! Twycross Zoo is sharing this unique sound in their latest radio ad which will be aired across the Midlands region on Heart FM.
